Samuel F. Pryor III, a corporate lawyer who played a key role in the preservation of New York's Sterling Forest and who served as vice president of the Palisades Interstate Park Commission, died Friday. He was 86 and a resident of Bedford, N.Y. "If you don't protect open space, it will be gone in due time," Mr. Pryor said in an interview with the Penn Law Journal several years ago.
